Newsletter 2019 Quarter 2

Review our newsletter from the second quarter of 2019.

The 2019 Newsletter reflects Spoken Worldwide’s continued mission of spreading the Word through oral Bible translation and spoken word ministry. Throughout the year, Spoken focused on reaching oral learners—communities that engage most effectively with Scripture through listening, storytelling, and relational communication rather than written text. Through oral Bible reading and spoken engagement, more people gained access to biblical translations in ways that are culturally meaningful and easy to share within their communities.

A key emphasis throughout the year was strengthening Bible and translation efforts specifically designed for oral cultures. While there are many different Bible translations available globally, oral learners often require Scripture to be communicated through spoken formats that align with their natural learning styles. Spoken’s work in oral Bible translations helps bridge this gap by creating spoken word resources that support discipleship, church planting, and leadership development in underserved regions.

This season also highlighted the importance of partnership and local leadership in advancing the mission. By equipping pastors, missionaries, and ministry leaders with orality-based tools and spoken word Scripture methods, Spoken empowers communities to engage with God’s Word in sustainable and reproducible ways. These efforts strengthen long-term discipleship and encourage multiplication through storytelling and oral communication.

Looking ahead, the newsletter reinforces the growing opportunity to expand oral Bible translation globally. Through continued collaboration, innovation, and faithful ministry, Spoken remains committed to making Scripture accessible to all people—especially those who experience and understand truth best through hearing, storytelling, and spoken communication.
