Newsletter 2023 Quarter 3

As we close out the year, we reflect on the continued impact of spreading the Word through oral Bible translation in communities around the world. This season has been a powerful reminder that access to Scripture is not just about availability, but about understanding. Through spoken word Scripture, oral Bible reading, and culturally relevant biblical translations, more individuals are encountering the message of Christ in ways that resonate deeply within their daily lives.

Throughout this quarter, we have seen how prioritizing orality in Bible and translation work opens new doors for ministry. While many different Bible translations exist globally, oral learners often remain underserved. Spoken’s commitment to developing oral Bible translations ensures that Scripture is shared in forms that align with how people naturally communicate—through listening, storytelling, and community engagement.

We have also witnessed meaningful growth in local leadership. By equipping pastors and ministry leaders with orality-based tools and training, Spoken enables them to disciple effectively using spoken word methods. These leaders are not only sharing Scripture but are also raising up others, creating a multiplying effect that strengthens churches and expands outreach.

As we look toward the coming year, the need for accessible biblical translations remains great. We are grateful for every partnership that makes this work possible and remain dedicated to advancing the mission of bringing Scripture to life through the power of the spoken word.
