As we reflect on this past quarter, we are continually reminded that the work of spreading the Word through oral Bible translation is both urgent and deeply impactful. Across multiple regions, teams are engaging communities that have historically had little to no access to Scripture in a form they can fully understand. Through spoken word Scripture and oral Bible reading, lives are being transformed—not through printed pages, but through stories heard, remembered, and shared within families and communities.
This quarter has also highlighted the growing importance of orality in global missions. Many of the communities Spoken serves are not reached effectively through traditional written Bible translations. Instead, they thrive through listening and storytelling. By prioritizing oral Bible translations and culturally relevant biblical translations, Spoken is helping ensure that the message of the Gospel is not only accessible, but also meaningful and sustainable within each unique cultural context. This approach allows local leaders to take ownership of discipleship in ways that align with how their communities naturally communicate.
In addition, we have seen continued momentum in leadership development through programs like the Pastor Development Program. These initiatives are equipping pastors and ministry leaders with the tools they need to teach Scripture using oral Bible methods, ensuring that discipleship is not limited by literacy barriers. As these leaders grow, they multiply their impact—reaching new groups, training others, and strengthening the local church through spoken word engagement with Scripture.
Looking ahead, the opportunities for expanding oral Bible translation efforts are greater than ever. With each new project, partnership, and trained leader, the vision of making Scripture accessible to every oral learner becomes more tangible. We are grateful for the continued support, prayers, and partnership that make this work possible, and we remain committed to advancing the mission of bringing the Bible to life through the power of the spoken word.
